Dave Morrey
Compliance Manager

Honest. Committed. Thorough. ·
Bio
I spent 28 years within Lloyds Banking Group predominantly within the commercial sector. During my final 10 years within LBG, I was responsible for delivering significant change initiatives within Commercial Risk Division whilst ensuring ongoing compliance.
After such a lengthy period within one organisation. I was keen for a new challenge and readily accepted the opportunity to join Finance 4 Business as Compliance Manager.
My combination of experience across risk, compliance and change delivery makes me ideally positioned to proactively support Finance 4 Business in the changing Regulatory landscape.

- What do you like best about working for Finance 4 Business?
A bit unoriginal perhaps but it has to be the people. Honest, committed, fun.
- What's the best project/client work you have been involved in?
Any project that demonstrated Compliance is not actually a ‘business prevention department’ and can occasionally support and add value….when not preventing business of course!!
- What are the values that drive you?
Honesty, transparency, integrity.
- What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Currently, baking with my two girls, but generally anything they happen to be doing at the time - making the most of the time they want to spend time with me before dad becomes too embarrassing for them.
- If you hosted a dinner party, what would you cook and who would you invite?
My signature dish is chilli, not very adventurous but my guest was; Earnest Shackleton. I select him as he was probably forced to eat worse things than my cooking to survive but also he’d have the best stories. If Shackleton was out of the country – Jurgen Klopp and Bill Shankly.
- What’s your guilty pleasure?
All things 80’s, even the cheesy stuff.
- If you had to sing a karaoke song what would it be and why?
The Killers. Mr Brightside. Such a tune that not even my voice could ruin it.
- What’s your most listened to music track?
Right now it’s ‘Life in a Northern Town’. Combination perhaps of my love of 80’s and Liverpool as a city. The lyric ”all of the work shut down” also feels relevant to describe some periods in 2020.
- What is your favourite moment with the Finance 4 Business team?
The first time I had to present to the entire team, two weeks after joining, that’s when I realised fully what a great team I had joined.
- Describe yourself in 3 words?
Honest. Committed. Thorough. Glad you didn’t ask what 3 words would others use to describe you!
